“Kesho BORA.” Two Swahili words that mean “Better FUTURE.”
For students in Tanzania, the transition from primary to secondary school is a critical moment. Secondary school subjects are taught in English—a language that many students from rural areas have not yet mastered.
The Kesho Bora Project is a pre-Form One bridging program designed to help students make this transition successfully.
What Is Kesho Bora?
Kesho Bora is a short bridging program for pupils who have completed Standard Seven and are waiting to join Form One. Its purpose is to:
- 📚 Build English Language Skills — Teaching the vocabulary and grammar needed for secondary school
- 💪 Build Confidence — Preparing students for the academic and social challenges ahead
- 📖 Bridge the Gap — Easing the transition from primary to secondary education
Why It Matters
