Sustainable Farming in Action: How Duck Sales Funded the Girls’ Dormitory Roof at Mango School

At LESCOTA, sustainable development is not just a philosophy, but an operational reality. We are thrilled to share a major milestone at Mango English Medium School that perfectly demonstrates how community-driven initiatives create lasting, self-sustaining impact.

Thanks to generous initial funding from NestProjects Foundation (Canada), LESCOTA launched a sustainable duck farming and poultry project designed to generate local income and teach students practical agricultural skills. Today, that project is bearing concrete fruit.

Through proceeds generated from duck sales, LESCOTA successfully purchased iron sheets and roofing materials to complete the roof of the Mango School Girls’ Dormitory.

Instead of relying solely on continuous external aid, our agricultural initiative directly financed essential educational infrastructure. This new roof provides a safe, secure, and weather-proof residential environment for young girls, allowing them to focus on their studies without interruption.

We extend our deepest gratitude to NestProjects Foundation (Canada) for believing in self-sustaining models, and to our local team and community members whose hard work made this milestone possible.
